The Question

Why has this geometryendured for centuries?

At first glance, Shree Yantra appears to be a complex arrangement of triangles. Look deeper, and it becomes a map of an inner journey.

What is Shree Yantra

A Geometry Witha Deeper Meaning

Within the Sri Vidya tradition, Shree Yantra is understood not merely as an object, but as a sacred representation of the relationship between consciousness, energy and the universe — an external blueprint of an inner structure, and a symbolic form associated with the body of the Divine Mother. This is presented as traditional spiritual understanding.

The Outer World

The field of experience.

The yantra begins at its edges — an enclosed square, the world of the senses. Three gates mark the passage inward.

The geometry is visible. The journey is inward.

The Distinction

Every Shree Yantra May Look Similar. That Doesn't Mean They Are Made the Same.

Authenticity is not determined merely by appearance. It is carried by four things —

TraditionCraftsmanshipRitualInterpretation
The Making

Before It Enters a Home, It Has a Journey.

I

Selection

Every yantra begins with intention — the choice of what is to be prepared, and for whom.

II

Material

The metal is chosen according to traditional guidance.

III

Geometry

Proportions are calculated. Nothing is left to approximation.

IV

Craftsmanship

Lines are engraved by practiced hands, edge by edge.

V

Shodhana

The prepared form undergoes traditional purification.

VI

Muhurta

Timing is considered — tithi, vaar, nakshatra.

VII

Prana Pratishtha

Ritual, havan and invocation consecrate the yantra.

VIII

Installation

The yantra enters its new space — home, office or place of practice.

Precision of Geometry

Sacred GeometryIs Not Decoration.

The identity of Shree Yantra depends heavily on its geometric construction. Focus on what can actually be examined — and traditionally understood.

Traditional Forms

Which formis right for you?

Meruमेरु

A three-dimensional, stepped form of Shree Yantra.

Its rising tiers are contemplated as a mountain of energy — the yantra's most architectural expression.

Bhupṛṣṭhaभूपृष्ठ

A flat form suitable for many household contexts according to the source tradition.

The plane of the geometry rests flat — quiet, complete, and at home in daily practice.

Kurma-prishthaकूर्मपृष्ठ

A raised, tortoise-back form with its own traditional significance.

The curved back recalls Kurma, the sacred tortoise — a form kept for specific traditional contexts.

These forms serve different traditional contexts.

Printed or paper representations can help one understand the geometry — they teach the eye to see the structure.

The Prepared Yantra

Traditional practice may use a properly prepared metal yantra for worship and specific purposes — where material, preparation and consecration each carry meaning.

Prana Pratishtha

The Making Does NotEnd With the Metal.

After physical preparation, traditional practice includes ritual purification, invocation and consecration — a further process through which a crafted form is prepared for worship.

Questions

Asked, and answered.

What is Shree Yantra?

Within the Sri Vidya tradition, Shree Yantra is a sacred geometric form used as a support for contemplation and worship — understood as an external blueprint of an inner structure.

What does the geometry represent?

Interlocking upward and downward triangles are contemplated as the meeting of consciousness and energy, unfolding outward from a single centre.

What is the Bindu?

The central point. In tradition it is the point of convergence — the still centre from which the geometry is said to unfold, and toward which the journey moves.

What is the difference between Meru and Bhupṛṣṭha?

Meru is a three-dimensional, stepped form. Bhupṛṣṭha is a flat form, considered suitable for many household contexts according to the source tradition.

Which material is traditionally used?

Traditional sources discuss metals such as copper, silver, gold and panchadhatu. Material is one part of preparation, not its entirety.

Why does geometry matter?

The identity of a yantra depends on precise proportions, intersections and symmetry. In sacred geometry, construction is meaning.

What is Prana Pratishtha?

A traditional ritual process of purification, invocation and consecration through which a prepared yantra is consecrated for worship.

Can Shree Yantra be kept at home?

Yes. Traditionally, yantras are kept in homes and personal spaces of practice. Placement and installation are guided by tradition.

How should I install it?

Traditional practice suggests installation with attention to cleanliness, orientation and auspicious timing. We guide every patron through the traditional steps.

How do I know whether a Shree Yantra is authentic?

Ask about material, geometric precision, form, preparation, muhurta and consecration — and examine the craftsmanship. We believe you should know what you are bringing home.

Look closer.

What first appears to be geometrymay become a way of seeing.

Explore it. Understand it.
And when you are ready, bring it home.
